I used this service a while back when travelling from Livorno, Italy to Ile Rousse, Corsica. This was a really lucky break as normally the ferries which leave from Italy usually only go to Bastia, which means you will then need to travel about 70 km to get to calvi/ile rousse (major tourist destinations). So this was definitely a plus side.
Corsica ferries usually offer great deals on their trips. I paid only about 12 euro round trip for the car itself (which with competing companies it can cost a whole lot more, up in the hundreds of euros) and about 60 euro for each person round trip.
Nowthe boat itself is very nice, the cabins are a bit useless if you travel by day but somewhat a must for comfort when traveling at night, each cabin costs around an additional 30 euro. The food on board is extraordinarily expensive, so I suggest you bring your own food and water in a small backpack, as the trip lasts around 6 to 8 hours you might want something to snack on.
Secondly, another thing you need to take into consideration is the fact that you should get to the docks early so you can be one of the first people to board and as a result actually get a place to sit outside otherwise you risk having to stay inside the whole time or sitting on the floor which isn’t very comfortable. After the ship leaves the dock, about 1 to 2 hours into it they will open the mini pool where one can ‘relax’, assuming there aren’t any kids playing/jumping/screaming around.
As for fun things to do for kuds, well there is a very small arcade with about 5 games, but that gets boring pretty fast. If you have kids make sure you have something to keep them entertained, you have o idea how annoying it is to have bored childrencomplaining the whole time that there isn’t anything to do.
All in all if you need to get to corsica then the corsica ferries are definitley the way to go. There is an airport but the fligths are outrageously expensive and car rentals are not worth the price.
If you don’t mind a long boat trip then this is definitely for you. The best part is that due to the sheer size of the ship itself you will most likely not get even remotly seasick.
I had a great time, the crew was very nice and just as efficients, the ship was fully loaded and unloaded in record speed. If I ever go to Corsica again then this is definitely the way i’ll travel, inexepensive, relatively fast and very efficient.

I travelled with Corsica Ferries. Crossing booked with a cabin. The cabin was small, but neat, so was the bathroom. Only bad thing was the early hours of the morning at which passengers are woken up before the ship docks.

I travelled with Corsica Ferries on Corsica Victoria. Efficient check-in: all you need is a copy of your voucher to go on board, without collecting the tickets. Excellent facilities on board. Very friendly staff, everything is fast and easy.

The worst transporter I have ever traveled with in my life (includes train and airlines). Late schedule, very looooong check-in queue, cars and motorcycles are stuffed like sardines where you can not even walk, the black smoke everywhere you can barely breath, and after all, non of the employees speak anything other than Italian (although Italy wasn’t in the itinerary), and they are super rude, arrogant and violent.
The beds are covered with light sheets, under witch the most disgusting I have ever seen.
Never ever even for free!

on the 18/05/2024 at 9:20 we were informed that our planned ferry for 11:00 was cancelled. Not a single option Corsica Ferries proposed within the “special website” was possible to book because of an error message occuring on all options.
After a 3h wait we finally managed to talk to the customer service who told us the only option is to take the ferry from Toulon instead of Savona.
The same thing happened on our planned trip back to mainland. The ferry was cancelled again last minute and the only option was to board in Porto Vecchio instead of Bastia.
Because of that we lost in total two days of vacation we had to sleep on the roadside two times and the family was totally stressed out.
Besides of that, we had to drive with the caravan several hundred kilometers in addition, to rech the new ports.
In total these two cancellation generated an additional expenses of 843,72€.
Corsica Ferries never answered a single Mail or letter we sent them and asked for a refund. It’s just impossible to speak to somebody who feels responsible for this.
Based on EU Regulation 1177/2010, also known as the “Regulation on the rights of passengers travelling by sea and inland waterway,” Corsica Ferries would be responsible for covering these additional expenses, but they are simply ignoring this.
Overall a pretty negative experience, better book with Mobi or some other company, would totally not recommend you spending a single Euro with Corsica / Sardinia Ferries.

If all goes well with your booking then fine. Organization at the port is poor, but considering the experiences at other Italian ports such as Bari, Genoa or Naples it is great!!
However should you need to make any changes to your booking you are totally ‘ripped off’. My original booking from Porto Torres to Toulon cost €180. I requested a change some 4 to 5 days in advance of an earlier ferry and was charged €135 for the privilege, €315 in total!!
ON THE DAY of this earlier sailing I could obtain crossing through on Corsica website for €168, or €227 through Netferry, both considerably cheaper.
I had a similar situation with Grimaldi Lines from Naples to Cagliari in changing to an earlier ferry and was only charged €30 for the self same change of service!
As for the crossing itself, it was nowhere near full, half the available toilets were closed for so called ‘disinfection’, the only other one I found open had no toilet paper despite notice of having been last serviced/cleaned at 12:30, for sailing at 14:30. The choice of food was poor and the quality even worse!
My advice – Avoid Corsica Ferries if at all possible

Very poor service. Our outbound trip Savona-Bastia was cancelled 2 days before we left. We had to rebook and travel to the Toulon instead. Reception staff very unfriendly, restaurant staff was oké. 3 weeks later… our return trip Bastia-Savona is cancelled again 2 days prior to our trip. But now… no cabines or chairs available at all the alternative night routes. We have to sleep on the dirty floor (outbound ship was very dirty, dog hair and we even saw dogs shit on the carpet) with our 3 kids. We have no pillows, blankets etc. Alternative is taking a daytrip of more then 10 hours, losing a whole day and entertaining the kids, because there’s nothing to do. Other possibility is taking a short route and driving an extra 400 km’s and having to book a hotel, because we won’t be able to drive back to Holland in half a day. Wasted our last two days of our holiday online and on the phone trying to find something. We have to make a couple of 100 euro ‘s extra costs and get a 35 euro voucher to spend onboard… Wow, i’ll never use Corsica Ferries again, that’s for sure.
