Is Axiology Beauty worth it?

I came across Axiology Beauty on Instagram , their lux gold packaging caught my eye. It’s gorg right?! Axiology is an indie beauty brand that makes cruelty-free, vegan lip products that are TO DIE FOR.

Lately, I’ve been thinking more about ethics and values in the beauty industry, which obviously vary from brand to brand. I want to make sure I’m supporting companies that have values which align with what I personally stand for and believe in. Axiology donates a percentage of their profits to the orangutan foundation and you won’t find any palm oil in their products. Their super cute cupboard packaging is made from 100% post consumer recycled material at a factory in Bali that is female-owned and operated.

Ingredients

Avocado oil, castor oil, and coconut oil are just a few of the nourishing ingredients that make the lipsticks super moisturizing. Orange essential oil is super soothing and makes the lippies smell so fresh. The ingredient list is short, simple, and I feel 100% safe putting these products on my lips.

This shimmery, cool-toned peony pink lipstick has been an essential in my makeup-bag lately. It’s pigmented, but still subtle enough for every day.

Philosophy

For me personally, this lipstick was a bit too orange and didn’t flatter my complexion. The formula though… so silky and smooth! But with that consistency, it was hard to build up coverage. If you want something sheer, than this is perfect. This is described as a matte, but it doesn’t dry matte. It just means that there is no shimmer/glitter, FYI!

The Goodness

This lipstick is pretty sheer on it’s own, but has the most gorgeous silver shimmer. I think this would look so pretty overtop of a nude lip to add some shimmer and shine.

Virtue

Ugh. YOU GUYS! I have a feeling this is going to be my go-to summer color! It’s orangey-red with gold shimmer, which is going to look even more bomb once I’ve got a bit of a tan.

Bliss lip crayon

If you want something hella pigmented, I would go for one of their lip crayons! This coral shade is super opaque, but it’s just as moisturizing as the rest of the lippies and won’t leave your lips feeling dry.

To sum it up, I am in love with these lipsticks! They do need a touch up every couple hours, but I never feel like I need to apply a lip-balm underneath as these are so hydrating. The product does layer really nicely, so it makes touching up easy.

So ladies, I challenge you to think about where your money is going and what type of business practices you’re supporting the next time you buy cosmetics. Axiology proves that we can still look good and do good

This is a FABULOUS clean, smartly packaged line that, overall, deserves 6 stars. That said, the colors manifest differently than expected. For example, BAD is much darker and browner than it is deep plum. I tried that on in person but didn’t realize quite how brown it was until I got home so that was on me; but Fundamental appears/was described as a classic red and just so you know I don’t find it red at all but more bronze orange. That’s not so much my thing so it’ll likely sit in the back of my makeup closet which is a shame as it’s a fine product; but if such orange-findamentalism appeals to you, this is a lovely, clean line to support.

This is one of the very few lipsticks I have found in my life that I’m not allergic or sensitive to in any way. It feels very soothing and nourishing, and I’m looking forward to ordering more shades – great lipstick!

Light color but it melts on your lips. Also you don’t have to worry about you eating harsh chemicals that are found in non-organic lipstick. I love the gold tube and how the applicator clicks into the case. Can’t wait to try the other colors.

LOVE the lipstick. So creamy, makes my lips feel spectacular. Wasn’t crazy about the color, which is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. It’s more of a peach beige than pink. I was looking for a redder pink color.

If you want a lip tint that is super shiny, then it’s okay.

If you want a deep pigment, look somewhere else. Tried to build it up to fill in the color and it still looks washed out. Very thin and not a lot of color/pigment. There are much better vegan lipsticks for half the cost.

I thought I was buying matte lipstick. This is not matte and the smell is strange. The case is cool but it pops open in my purse all the time.
