Speechify is a broad voice AI suite: its reader focuses on listening and productivity, Studio targets voiceover and dubbing work, and SpeechifyAI Build serves developers. Its strongest case is for teams that need a large voice catalog alongside granular speech control, flexible export options, and an API; subscription separation and model-specific language coverage are the key tradeoffs.

What is Speechify?

Speechify includes a consumer Voice AI productivity assistant, Speechify Studio for voiceovers and dubbing, and SpeechifyAI Build for developers. Build provides text-to-speech, streaming, SSML, speech marks, cloning, and Python and TypeScript SDKs.

Voices and language coverage

Speechify Studio offers more than 1,000 voices across over 60 languages. Its dubbing workflow can transcribe and translate content, assign voices by speaker, generate a dub, and support text-level translation edits. Voice cloning uses a 10–30 second sample with verified speaker consent. Language availability differs by model, with simba-3.2 limited to English.

Pronunciation and speech control

Studio includes controls for pause, pitch, speed, volume, pronunciation, emotion, and emphasis, plus a Pronunciation Library for reusable word and phoneme entries. The API adds SSML for pitch, rate, pauses, emphasis, pronunciation substitution, and 13 emotion values. Word-level speech marks provide text offsets and millisecond timing.

Audio workflow and delivery

Studio exports voiceovers as OGG, MP3, WAV, SRT, WebVTT, and DOCX. Dubbing exports include video, subtitles, and audio. Build supports batch synthesis up to 2,000 characters and streaming up to 20,000 characters, with WAV, MP3, OGG, AAC, and PCM output. WAV is not available on streaming routes.

Who Speechify fits

Speechify suits creators producing voiceovers, podcasts, e-learning, presentations, and dubbed video, as well as developers building speech into products. It also serves listening-oriented use cases for students, professionals, seniors, and people who benefit from written content being spoken aloud. Buyers should account for separate Reader and Studio subscriptions, free-tier commercial restrictions, cloning consent requirements, and model-dependent language support.
