A service can renew before the buyer completes budget, performance, or market review. What should the contract cover?
Accepted answerRecord the renewal and cancellation dates, notice method, authorized decision maker, funding conditions, performance review, price changes, and data-exit lead time. Use internal reminders well before the vendor deadline. Do not let silence commit funds when the buyer’s authority or procurement rules require an affirmative action. For federal options, FAR Subpart 17.2 provides a formal model based on evaluation and an affirmative exercise decision.
