A future feature may close an important gap, but roadmaps can change. When can a buyer rely on one?

If the feature is material, put delivery, acceptance, delay notice, remedies, and an alternative path in the contract; otherwise, treat it as optional upside. Do not make a critical service depend on a sales presentation. FAR Part 11 supports clear current requirements and realistic performance schedules.
